THE HAUNTING OF HOAR CROSS HALL: (Based on true events) The typewriter keys clattered away as Viv wrote her story. It was coming along nicely and she was feeling pleased with herself. The attic room that she and her brothers had made into their ‘den’ was ideal for getting away from everybody and having some peace and quiet and she quite forgot about the time as she lost herself in the plot. Suddenly she looked up and realized how dark it was getting; the December nights were pulling in and it was already quite dusky by 3.30pm. ...n ancient typewriter which I used to type up stories on but as soon as the light started to fade we’d be out of there like a shot – once I was up there on my own and hadn’t noticed the time; realising how dark it was getting I stepped out of the room, clenched my teeth and ran - I could already hear the chatter of people talking along the corridor. No wonder I grew up a nervous wreck!! It wasn’t much better when we went to bed – the sight of 20 suits of armour staring back at us through their visors in the Long Gallery as we climbed the stairs was quite intimidating.
And then there was the time we played 'Hide and Seek' in the basement rooms - so many...

...n ancient typewriter which I used to type up stories on but as soon as the light started to fade we’d be out of there like a shot – once I was up there on my own and hadn’t noticed the time; realising how dark it was getting I stepped out of the room, clenched my teeth and ran - I could already hear the hubbub of people talking along the corridor. No wonder I grew up a nervous wreck!! It wasn’t much better when we went to bed – the sight of 20 suits of armour staring back at you through their visors as you climbed the stairs was quite intimidating.
