...ng to the pantry to put some food away but found the door handle was stuck. She tugged and tugged but it wouldn’t open and she thought she heard a child’s laughter inside. Carefully she listened at the door then shouted, “Who’s there?” More laughter followed and as she went to try the door again it flew open and a cold gust of air ruffled her skirts as it went by. Molly screamed and ran back into the kitchen.
“There’s a ghost in the pantry Cook!”, she shouted. “I felt it run by me.”
“What nonsense!”, answered Cook. “It’s just a draught no doubt – it’s meant to be cold to keep the food chilled.”
