...y a scary movie that was the reason for the phone call!  Fortunately, they were about to leave and were soon home; I had never been so glad to see them in all my life! Many years later when I visited the Hall with my mum and two of my children, the staff were telling us about a room in the basement that always had a chilly atmosphere and where the door always got stuck for no reason and sometimes they heard a child crying inside.  So, (I thought) it’s still here then – so glad I don’t live here anymore! ...ny action movie where someone climbs out of a hotel window and walks along a ledge to another room/window to escape the Police or a villain – well this is exactly what we did from our bedroom windows which were well over 25 feet high.  One time Piers got out onto the window sill (unbeknown to us) and visitors were running into the house to tell someone about the ‘small child about to fall out of the window’!    We were always getting up to mischief – check out later blogs for more of our tricks!
