...- mainly hippies - and the atmosphere was the usual dark, smoky one except that now the smoke had a funny smell to it. Someone said the drug squad came into the club ‘in cognito’ and we did see one or two guys wearing long haired wigs and trying to talk the lingo. They really stuck out like a sore thumb! When one asked me if I had any skins, I innocently replied “Do you mean banana skins?” It was a lot of fun and the music was even better – who remembers Steelers Wheel, The Doobie Brothers, The Steve Miller Band and Steely Dan to name but a few? Such great music and such good times.

This was something else I was being exposed to; many people there smoked dope and I happily joined in, much to my sensible boyfriends’ annoyance. Someone said the drug squad came in the club ‘in cognito’ and we did see one or two guys wearing wigs and talking the lingo.
