...kbrokers, barristers and local gentry; most of their houses had swimming pools and we would often go back to one or another of their homes for a midnight swim! Usually their parents were away so we were never disturbed. Once we had been to a fancy dress party where Kev had dressed up as a knight with tights and tabard on – these were abandoned at the side of the pool where our friend’s gardener found them next day. Apparently he took our friend to one side and whispered “I think your young lady has left these behind”. His face must have been a picture when Carl said “Oh no, those are Kev’s!”

...ith their barristers on this and that. And then it was time; they called us in and we sat on either side of the room. Then an incredible thing happened – six people, each carrying a huge pile of paperwork and files, all walked in after us and put their loads onto a table at the front. It was unbelievable that so many letters had exchanged hands over the years – a small forest at least! The Judge looked at it all with distaste.
So much paperwork!
