Reburbishing our Mansion #4

...ng out of Mission Impossible.  Because we didn’t want to leave lights on we had to switch the light on ahead, then go back to switch off the light behind us, then onto the next landing and do the same (no 2-way working switches yet!) or else take a torch for ease and quickness.  My dad was very keen on keeping a potentially large electric bill down for obvious reasons.  However, I was still terrified of seeing that ghost and I hated all those suits of armour looking at me so I would leave the lights on and let my mum switch them off later!  However, if I heard any strange noises in the night at least I could blame the new tenants now and not think about th...
