...as only a scary movie that was the reason for the phone call! Fortunately, they were about to leave and were soon home; I have never been so glad to see them in all my life! Many years later when I visited the Hall with my mum and two of my children, the staff were telling us about a room in the basement that always had a chilly atmosphere and where the door always got stuck for no reason, guests complaining about the noises in the attic bedrooms and the ghost of a man who appeared in the Entrance Hall!   I remember thinking how glad I was that I didn’t have to sleep there anymore! ...was quite scary to see and also the Racing Car Show at London’s Olympia. This was something we usually went to most year’s due to my dad’s interest in motor racing but I think this was the first time we’d been to the London one, so it was quite exciting particularly as Radio Luxembourg were there sponsoring the show and I got to see all the lovely DJs. Mum wanted to get a pair of evening shoes so we grabbed a taxi which dropped us off outside a coat shop.
