‘ATV Today’ cameras were present for the dress rehearsal and a clip of three or four minutes on the television no doubt helped to boost the ticket sales. The pantomime was on for three nights and had capacity audiences every night of 300 people. A good profit was made and a donation went to the Prince Charles’ Appeal for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Fund. ...with his money and liked to make as much profit as possible on the things he sold. He would often buy swords then bury them in the garden for a few months to ‘age’ them so he would get more money for them! He was a bit of an Arthur Daley character (hopefully most people abroad will have heard of the ‘Minder’ TV show and will therefore know what I mean!); he would see the potential in something and go for it, although he hating spending money and we lived very frugally for stately home owners! In fact, he bought a suit of armour for my mum’s birthday present once, saying it was better to spend their money on an investment rather than flowers that would...Panto Pranks! #30
